ABOUT US
LOMA Bike Club is an inclusive, Vancouver-based, road biking club catering to riders of all demographics. 2016, marks the second year of the cycling club, one of the fasting growing clubs in the city. We aspire to be among the leading bike clubs in Vancouver in the years to come.
Team rides generally occur Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Wednesday's are training nights and we often hit the hills building our climbing endurance. We end our Wednesday workouts at one of our Sponsor restaurants for discounts on dinner items. Saturday rides typcially start at 8:30 am, and the team embarks on a long, group ride around the Lower Mainland, often hitting regroup destinations where all our levels, A, B and C, meet up. A is advanced, B is intermediate and C is recreational. We also have a race team if you want to push yourself to the next level.
LOMA Bike is proud to offer our members access to some of the best riding coaches in the region. Our coaches take LOMA members through intense training and provide tips and tricks to improve our riding capabilities. Membership also includes discounts at a number of locations, and also our Sponsors are kind enough to provide funding to allow us to give back to the community, which is a big part of what the club is all about.
Every year LOMA intends to support a charity. The first year we rode for cancer. The second year our members raised funds for Autism and planned a ride for the cause, The Triple-G (Granny Gear Grind) up Seymour Mountain. Our team also participates in MEC rides, Penticton Fondo, Propera Fondo, Whistler Fondo, Levi Fondo and others. You don't have to win, you just have to have fun... but hey, if you win you'll get kudo's - like when Brett Wakefield won the Rotary Ride Cypress Climb representing LOMA Bike!
